WebSpeed in ChatGPT and Claude
Ask the assistant to measure a page, for example “How fast is example.com?”. WebSpeed measures it with Google PageSpeed Insights twice, as it is and through WebSpeed Fast, on mobile and desktop, and shows the result in a card in the chat.
- How to connect. In ChatGPT, add WebSpeed from the
app directory.
In Claude, add a custom connector in Settings → Connectors with the address
https://api.webspeed.pro/mcp. Step by step is on the app page. No WebSpeed account or sign-in is needed. - How long it takes. A page measured before comes back at once. A new measurement usually takes 2–5 minutes; heavy pages and busy hours take longer. The card updates by itself for up to 20 minutes. After that, ask the assistant whether the measurement is ready, or open the report link from the card.
- Daily limit. Each user can start three new measurements a day. Pages measured before do not count toward it.
- Public pages only. PageSpeed Insights loads the page from the internet, so local addresses (localhost), private networks and pages behind a login cannot be measured.
- Measuring does not change your site. WebSpeed only reads the page. Nothing is installed or switched on for your site by the app.
Why a result says “Not faster” or “No comparison”
Every comparison passes a check before any speed-up figure is shown. When it does not pass, the result says so instead of showing numbers:
- Not faster or Mixed result: the WebSpeed Fast copy was not faster on one or both devices. The list of what slows the original page down is still useful on its own.
- No comparison: the measurement cannot support a comparison, for example because the original page is already fast or a run did not load properly.
Scores move between runs even for an unchanged page; how much, and why, is described in how we measure. Savings listed under “still to fix” are Lighthouse estimates, not measurements.
Removing a report and your data
Each measurement is published as a public report. To have a report about your site removed, or to ask what we store about your use of the app, write to hi@webspeed.pro. What we collect and for how long is in the privacy policy; the rules of use are in the terms.
